At a time of shifting global priorities, constrained resources, and evolving geopolitical dynamics, how do we meaningfully shift power in sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR)?

This two-part webinar series, hosted by the ICFP Power Shifting Subcommittee in partnership with the WHO IBP Network Community of Practice on Shifting Power in SRHR, brings together practitioners, advocates, and policymakers to explore how power operates—and how it can be transformed—across different contexts.

Through complementary discussions, the series will examine both the practical realities of power shifting in SRHR programming and the broader structural forces shaping power, including global health financing and diplomacy.

Webinar 1: Power Shifting in Practice

Power Shifting in Practice: Navigating Equity, Resources, and Sustainability in Changing Times
May 13, 2026 | 9:00–10:30 AM ET

This interactive session focuses on real-world experiences of power shifting in SRHR. Speakers from diverse contexts will share practical examples, lessons learned, and reflections on how organizations and communities are advancing equity and local leadership—particularly in the face of declining funding and shifting global health priorities.

Participants will engage in dialogue on what it takes to sustain meaningful, locally-driven approaches in complex and resource-constrained environments.

Webinar 2: Power, Health Diplomacy, and SRHR

Health Diplomacy, Extractive Dynamics, and SRHR: A Critical Power Analysis of U.S.–Africa Engagement
May 27, 2026 | 9:00–10:30 AM ET

Building on the first session, this webinar takes a broader, structural lens—examining how global health diplomacy and geopolitical dynamics shape power, sovereignty, and SRHR outcomes.

Through expert analysis and case-based discussion, participants will explore how health-related agreements and policy conditions influence national decision-making and identify pathways toward more equitable, locally-driven alternatives.

What to Expect Across the Series:

  • Practical and policy-oriented perspectives on power shifting in SRHR
  • Insights from global, regional, and country-level experiences
  • Interactive discussions with practitioners, policymakers, and advocates
  • Opportunities to reflect, connect, and advance equity-centered approaches

Both webinars will be held on Zoom with simultaneous interpretation in French and Spanish.
