Jul 11, 2023

The Bill & Melinda Gates Institute for Population and Reproductive Health, the Demographic Dividend (DD) Initiative, and the International Conference on Family Planning (ICFP) invite you to watch the following webinar:

The Shape of Things to Come

Using Economic Demography to Understand the Future

This edition of the Demographic Dividend (DD) Luminaries Series, featuring Ronald D. Lee, Ph.D. of University of California, Berkeley, describes the development and use of the National Transfer Accounts (NTA) to measure and understand the generational economy—the social institutions and economic mechanisms used by each generation or age group to produce, consume, share, and save resources.

Speakers go into detail about the first and the second demographic dividends, including the likely size and duration of the first demographic dividend that countries in sub-Saharan Africa may obtain as well as the economic consequences of population aging in high-income countries.
