Gloria Mogoi Kimani

I am a young Medical Psychologist focusing on Mental Health, Sexual Reproductive Health Rights, Advocacy and Leadership, as well as involvement in various initiatives that address gender equality, climate justice and feminism. I am deeply informed by my experiences through working with diverse individuals and communities facing various health challenges, including those related to gender-based discrimination, gender inequity and social injustice.

I am also a Youth Advisory Board Member for a CARE CANADA project in partnership with Restless Development called SHE SOARS (Sexual and reproductive Health & Economic empowerment Supporting Out of school Adolescent girls’ Rights and Skills) being implemented in Kenya, Zambia and Uganda.

As a medic and young leader, I am interested in leading initiatives that address how the climate and environmental changes and emergencies affect our mental health and sexual reproductive health and in what ways we can work together to address issues such as depression, anxieties, disruptions to access of contraceptives by young people and women, gender based violence arising through drought ,floods et cetera.

I have exposure in community outreach, program coordination, leadership, Mental Health, Sexual Reproductive Health and Rights advocacy and campaigns and through this I have harnessed the ability of working collaboratively in different spaces with culturally diverse individuals.

My strength lies in the unwavering commitment to championing the rights and well-being of women, girls, and marginalized groups. By prioritizing empowerment and amplifying the voices of those who are often marginalized or silenced, I help to create more inclusive and equitable spaces where everyone can access the support and resources they need to thrive.
