Yumnah Hattas

Yumnah, a seasoned professional with 20+ years in the Development sector, excels in gender-related projects, sexual and reproductive health, comprehensive sexuality education, and health systems strengthening. As a strategic leader, she has a proven track record managing complex, multi-million-dollar programs across Africa and South Asia, specializing in capacity building, research, analysis, monitoring and evaluation, data presentation, networking, and alliance-building. Focused on advancing comprehensive sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR) through collective action, Yumnah advocates for inclusivity, gender responsiveness, and human rights in global health. A global advocate for over two decades, Yumnah champions gender equity and SRHR for women and girls within the HIV, gender, and SRHR movements. Her leadership has driven policy changes at national, regional, and global levels, significantly contributing to gender equity, comprehensive sexuality education, and SRHR. As the Senior Advisor for Gender and SRHR in the Funding and Partnerships Department, Yumnah effectively raises funds with partners to address daily challenges faced by women and girls. With extensive senior leadership since 2009, she navigates strategic spaces, showcasing her global presence as a moderator at key conferences, including the Women Deliver 2023 Conference in Kigali and the ICASA Conference Women Networking Zone 2023. Inspired by her three daughters, Yumnah passionately strives for a fair, just, and equal world, successfully coordinating the building of the Global Trans Coalition with Frontline AIDS partners and aiming to form a similar coalition with Sex Worker partners.
