VIRTUAL EVENT
Tuesday, 11 October 2022
10:00 AM EDT
An estimated 257 million women around the world who want to avoid pregnancy are not using safe, modern methods of contraception. And of these women, 172 million are using no method at all.*
This undermines individual rights, autonomy and progress on development goals, yet addressing this unmet need is achievable if voices are elevated, investments are sustained and policy protects fundamental sexual and reproductive health and rights for people around the world.
The 2022 International Conference on Family Planning (ICFP) taking place in Pattaya City, Thailand this 14-17 November will center the experiences of local leaders and create a transformative space for advocates, policymakers, researchers, and donors to come together and recommit themselves to achieving universal access to family planning and contraceptive services.
Please join us on Tuesday, 11 October at 10 a.m. EDT for a conversation with Nabeeha Kazi Hutchins, president and CEO of PAI, and Jose “Oying” Rimon II, chair of the International Steering Committee, 2022 ICFP and Director of the Bill & Melinda Gates Institute for Population and Reproductive Health at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health.
During this virtual event, Oying will share the progress and excitement around the ICFP platform, and some of the transformational events that will be featured at the pre-conferences, during the conference and the side events.
He will also talk about youth engagement and leadership, the role of parliamentarians and policymakers, the 8 billion event occurring on the second day of the conference, the future in the use of digital and e-health platforms, the celebrations around the many awards of recognition that will be given and the scientific sessions that would show that universal health coverage cannot be achieved without family planning.
