From Conversation to Collective Action: ICFP 2025 Spark Sessions & Ignite Nights

Oct 18, 2025

A new, connected experience at ICFP 2025, designed to move our community from dialogue to action, and from inspiration to impact.

At ICFP 2025 in Bogotá, participants will experience a new way to engage with each other and with the most pressing issues in family planning and SRHR.

Across Lunch & Learn Spark Sessions and Ignite Nights, the conference will offer a coordinated flow of discussions and collaborations that build on one another — helping participants turn ideas into shared action.

1. Lunch & Learn Spark Sessions: Where the Conversation Begins

Each day, ICFP attendees are invited to take part in Lunch & Learn Spark Sessions — interactive discussions designed to surface ideas, share experiences, and connect across sectors.

  • Tuesday, November 4: A broad range of topics and provocations led by ICFP sub-committees, youth leaders, and partners. These sessions will raise timely questions and spark dialogue on emerging issues shaping the movement.
  • Wednesday, November 5: Roundtable discussions will dive deeper into a set of curated Hot Topics – critical and timely issues that invite cross-sector thinking and collaboration. Participants will be invited to share stories and experiences as a way to explore the nuances and possibilities of these Hot Topics.

The ideas and insights generated through these sessions will prepare attendees to dive even deeper into connection and action at the evening Ignite Nights.

2. Ignite Nights: Where Ideas Turn into Action

Two evening plenary sessions — the Ignite Nights — taking place from 5:45 – 7:00 pm in the main plenary hall, will carry the energy of the day into shared reflection and action.

  • Ignite Night, Day 1 – From Sparks to Heat (Tuesday, November 4):
In a fast-paced series of 2–3-minute updates, speakers representing ICFP subcommittees will spotlight critical, timely issues—our Hot Topics. Each provocation will highlight the urgency of the issue, and a key progress point or challenge since the beginning of this challenging year, and invite participants to reflect and respond.
At the close, attendees will be asked to submit their own Burning Questions—issues they feel the movement must address together, and on which they are compelled to act themselves.
  • Ignite Night, Day 2 – From Heat to Fired Up for Action (Wednesday, November 5):
The second Ignite Night turns questions into collaboration and action. Participants will select from a curated list of Burning Questions and join others at small tables to brainstorm, connect, and identify actionable next steps that they can take, individually and together. They will formulate and share their contribution to advancing FP/SRHR far beyond the conference.

Why It Matters

This coordinated series connects the dots across the week — from lunchtime dialogue to evening reflection, from questions to clear contributions. Together, the Spark Sessions and Ignite Nights will:

  • Foster new connections across sectors, in the name of learning and action
  • Surface shared challenges and tangible opportunities for collaboration.
  • Transform connections and conversations into concrete actions and partnerships.

ICFP 2025 isn’t just a convening; it’s a catalyst.

This is where connections and conversations lead to transformational collective actions.
