In this inaugural session of the Demographic Dividend (DD) Luminaries Event Series Economist and early pioneer of DD research David Canning, Ph.D., who coined the term “demographic dividend” along with fellow Harvard economist David Bloom, joined us to discuss the following topics:

  • Women’s empowerment
  • Key DD indicators

Dr. Canning discusses how he initially started researching the DD and gives country-specific examples of how people are making progress toward achieving the DD around the world.
