Meet the ICFP Community

The ICFP platform is anchored by 11 subcommittees, bringing together individuals and organizations from across the global sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR) community.

Working year-round, these groups focus on a specific thematic area of SRHR. They break down silos within the field and extend their reach to collaborate with other sectors and disciplines, recognizing that SRHR is connected to so many aspects of global health, development, and society.

Through a wide range of resources, tools, workshops, meetings, declarations, and other initiatives, the ICFP subcommittees turn expertise into action—driving progress toward safe, equitable SRHR for all.

The strength of ICFP lies in its community. Each subcommittee is more than a working group, it’s a collective of passionate advocates, innovators, and changemakers driving the movement for reproductive health and rights forward together.”

Insights from Subcommittee Co-chairs

“Advancing gender equality is not only a matter of rights but a macroeconomic imperative with transformative benefits for national development.”

Mahesh Karra
ICFP 2025 DD Subcommittee Co-chair; Columbia University

“Will women in 2027 have better access to contraception and abortion than in 2025 despite political assault? If yes, ICFP 2025 succeeded in galvanizing sustained action. If no, ICFP 2025 provided solidarity and hope but failed to translate defiance into protection.”

Helen Blackholly
ICFP 2025 Private Sector Subcommittee Co-chair

“There is nowhere on earth that is immune to crisis: threats of climate change, conflict and violence, erosion of rights, spread of disinformation, and shrinking access to resources to help those in need. The SRH in humanitarian settings community is uniquely placed to connect these worlds and offer solutions that are relevant to everyone.”

Ashley Wolfington
ICFP 2025 Humanitarian and Crisis Settings Subcommittee Co-chair

“It was inspiring to see such strong youth leadership shape the program and overall conference experience. Everyone brought passion, creativity, and innovation to their work.”

Innocent Grant
ICFP 2025 Youth Subcommittee Co-chair

“Our collective voice is loudest when implementation meets equity and evidence meets ownership.”

Dr. Ufuoma Festus Omo-Obi
ICFP 2025 Program Implementation Co-chair

“A defining moment was witnessing Colombia formally announce its commitment to the FP2030 alliance on the stage at the closing ceremony. While this milestone reflects years of tireless advocacy by Latin American partners and allies, it powerfully demonstrated what is possible when movements align, persist, and act collectively toward shared goals.”

Natalie Apcar
ICFP 2025 A&A Subcommittee Co-chair

“People need to be nice to each other. We can have different opinions, but still be respectful and kind. If people cannot, they should not be allowed to have positions that elevate them to represent ‘this community’ as it sends a signal that not all are welcome.”

Mona Bormet
