This webinar, organized in collaboration withe WHO/IBP Network and the ICFP Youth Subcommittee, is designed to spotlight young leaders whose voices were missing in Bogotá during the 2025 International Conference on Family Planning due to visa challenges, funding barriers, and political instability in their home countries. The ICFP community truly missed hearing directly from these youth advocates, and this virtual space is an intentional effort to live the conference theme “Equity Through Action” by ensuring that geography, politics, and structural barriers do not determine who gets to shape the global SRHR agenda.
Despite visa, funding, and political barriers, the session amplified voices that must shape the global SRHR agenda. The webinar featured eight youth leaders from eight different countries, covering topics from adolescent SRH in conflict settings to menstrual health and digital rights, HIV programming, and gender-diverse youth inclusion. As one youth speaker reminded us, “Equity in health must also mean equity in whose knowledge, leadership, and lived experiences are valued.” Please watch the recording and stay tuned for more youth-led updates and opportunities in the coming months.
