Shaping the Future of Reproductive Health Supplies: Youth Supplies Fellows Lead the Way

Oct 18, 2023

By Esenam Amuzu

FPNN Reporter, Youth Advocate, ICFP2022 Youth Trailblazer.

Coming from over 20 countries, specialists within the reproductive health supply chain are in Accra, Ghana this week.

The 20th annual general meeting of the Reproductive Health Supplies Coalition (RHSC) members is coalescing under the theme “Shaping the Future of Reproductive Health Supplies”.

The meeting provides stakeholders, experts, and members with the opportunity to discuss and access recent happenings and their impact on access to reproductive health supplies. The meeting celebrates the resilience and efforts of members that ensured access to essential medical and health supplies during the pandemic. At the same time, members looked forward to seeing how more resilient measures and strategies can continue to shape a better future for new and existing reproductive health supplies.

It also provides an opportunity for intergenerational dialogues between experts in the field and new young professionals, who aspire to build on the achievements and milestones reached in the supply chain as well as learn from the rich and experience and dynamic accomplishments of these experts. Much of their cutting-edge work and partnerships with youth will directly determine the reproductive health of the next generation.

As a Supply Fellow, I look forward to interacting with others to increase my understanding of the RH landscape, network with peers, identify opportunities for collaboration, and play a role in creating spaces for the youth engagement in this urgent agenda.

Farhan Yusuf, Supply Fellow, Tanzania

I will be here all week to report on why youth participation in supply chain solutions is so important and how young people can be part of the equation. Stay tuned to my social feeds and check back to this page for more of my RHSC coverage!
