In commemoration of the World Day of Social Justice 2026, the ICFP Power Shifting Subcommittee invites you to a dynamic 60-minute virtual conversation: Empowering Inclusion: Bridging Gaps for Social Justice in Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR).
Observed annually on February 20 and established by the United Nations General Assembly, the World Day of Social Justice calls for advancing equity, inclusion, and social protections worldwide. The 2026 theme, “Empowering Inclusion: Bridging Gaps for Social Justice,” challenges us to confront systemic inequalities and reimagine structures that exclude marginalized communities.
Against a backdrop of global funding crises, rising anti-SRHR movements, and persistent colonial legacies in global health systems, this webinar will explore why SRHR is fundamentally a social justice issue—and what it means to shift power in practice.
Participants will engage in:
-
A framing of the World Day of Social Justice theme in relation to today’s SRHR landscape
-
A thought-provoking panel on power shifting in research, programming, and policy
-
Interactive dialogue on current challenges and opportunities
-
A collective call to action to advance equity, accountability, and inclusion
The session will center marginalized voices—including youth, persons with disabilities, and Global South communities—while examining funding inequities, decolonizing knowledge systems, and strategies for sustaining meaningful power shifts in global health.
This webinar is designed for SRHR researchers, advocates, youth leaders, donors, policymakers, civil society actors, and members of the ICFP Power Shifting Community of Practice.
Join us as we move from statements of intent to collective action—toward a more just and inclusive future for sexual and reproductive health and rights.
