A New Anthem for Equity Through Action

As the world gathers for the 2025 International Conference on Family Planning (ICFP) in Bogotá, Colombia, a new anthem is setting the rhythm for this year’s theme: Equity Through Action.

ICFP is proud to support “Solo Igualdad” (Only Equality), an original song written and performed by William Otuck — the Tanzanian artist behind ICFP’s 2018 hit “We Are Family.” His latest track captures the essence of the global movement for sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR): connection, equality, and the power of people coming together to reimagine a more just and inclusive world.

Music with a Message

Blending Afrobeat-inspired rhythms with heartfelt lyrics, “Solo Igualdad” celebrates love, agency, and partnership — the very ideals that drive Equity Through Action. The song’s chorus, “Solo igualdad!”, serves as a joyful call to stand for fairness and choice across all borders and backgrounds.

“We are the first generation truly witnessing a merging of cultures through the power of technology. It’s also a time when inequalities are more visible than ever before. For creatives like me, this is an invitation to reimagine a world where everyone is equal and free to pursue happiness in their lifetime. I believe it’s possible — and that’s what I want people to feel when they listen, dance, and enjoy this song.”

Celebrating Unity Across Borders

From its opening verse — “We met in shining Colombia, after I cross over the seas” — to its vibrant refrain, “Solo igualdad!”, the song embodies the hope and solidarity that define ICFP 2025. It’s a reminder that true equity begins when we act — through creativity, collaboration, and shared humanity.

🎧 “Solo Igualdad” is available now on all major streaming platforms. Watch for its live debut during the ICFP 2025 Opening Ceremony in Bogotá, Colombia.
