The second edition of the Sexual Health with Equity (SHE) & Rights Media Awards 2025 has received an inspiring response, with 369 applications from 32 countries worldwide. This award is led by Citizen News (CNS) and the Global Center for Health Diplomacy and Inclusion (CeHDI), in collaboration with ICFP and several other sponsoring organizations. The awards highlight outstanding media coverage that advance sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR), and this year’s applicants showcase the diversity and passion of storytellers worldwide.
Applications came from every region:
• 207 from 9 countries in the Asia Pacific
• 130 from 17 countries in Africa
• 20 from 2 countries in the Americas
• 6 from 4 countries in Europe
• 6 without country specified
Entries were submitted in six languages—English, French, Bahasa, Hindi, Nepali, and Bangla—with translations or subtitles included to ensure broad accessibility.
Applicants also represent a wide range of voices:
• 327 women
• 41 men
• 1 applicant identifying as they/them
From Angola to Zimbabwe, and from Australia to the United States, the breadth of participation reflects the global commitment to advancing SRHR through powerful media storytelling.
A 28-member judging panel is now hard at work reviewing submissions. Finalists will be announced later this year, with awardees recognized at ICFP 2025 in Bogotá this November.
Stay tuned for updates as we celebrate and elevate the voices of media driving equity and rights around the world.
